The Enforcement Directorate (ED), probing a money laundering case involving gangster Iqbal Mirchi, on Monday unearthed documents which contained details of how some companies linked with Mumbai businessman Sudhakar Shetty had helped in the diversion of funds from Dewan Housing Finance (DHFL).

The revelations came after the ED raided the residence and office of Sudhakar Shetty, who runs the Sahana Group of Companies, in connection with the money laundering investigations.

The ED had earlier summoned Sudhakar Shetty in relation to the money-laundering case against gangster Iqbal Mirchi.

ED officials said Sudhakar Shetty had direct links with at least four out of the 79 paper companies which were used to award fictitious loans to 1,00,000 persons or entities to the tune of Rs 12,773 crore from DHFL.
