Early Life and Education

Harry Robinson Hamlin was born in Pasadena, California, USA in 1951, into the family of an aviation engineer, C.D.

Hamlin. His family was highly respected, and his grandfather, after whom Harry was named, was a prominent figure involved in the founding of major American museums. Harry received an excellent education, starting at Flintridge Preparatory School and later attending the prestigious boarding school, The Hill School, in Pennsylvania.

He then went on to study at the University of California, Berkeley.
