Biography of Neil Sedaka
Neil Sedaka is an American pianist, vocalist, and songwriter.
He was born on March 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, to immigrant parents. As a schoolboy, Neil demonstrated his own abilities and obvious musical talent. A teacher recommended to Neil's mother that he be sent to learn music, specifically piano.

His mother worked overtime to buy him an instrument. In 1947, Neil began attending a music school where he studied classical music and learned to play the piano. At the same time, Sedaka developed a passion for popular music and started writing lyrics for songs when he turned 13.
